First you have to want to, nobody is going to make you. You need to set goals and reach for them to see results. Try talk radio or just counting in your head. Once you stop it’s hard to start over again.

First off, do you have treadmill? If you do I strongly suggest that you do put it in front of your t.v. And listening to music can really be a big help. But if it’s getting boring then you should change it up a day. Do different genres everyday. Different types of songs. Also, sometimes you can just let your imagination go wild while you run! I just started XC (cross country) in the 7th grade this year and thats what I do. I like to think while I’m running. Try it! Let your mid run with your legs!!
Hope this helps,
N.

Why can’t you run outside? If you could meet with someone from the track team everyday, and run slow and talk about things. Then running wouldn’t be boring.

First decide if you want to run..then find something to think about other than pain and suffering.
I love track workouts and running with friends. Friends usually distract and the track help push u a little. Track workouts can be very detailed~thought consuming! You can do a ‘track’ workout on a treadmill.
Think about your run as 3 parts: warm-up, main sets, and cool-down. For example if you’re running 3.1 miles (or 5K), warm up for about a mile. Then push yourself harder for 3 tenths, ease up for a tenth, harder for .3, easier for .1, harder for .3, then relax into an easy cool down for about a mile.
You’ll be so busy thinking you won’t mind the running. Mix it up and have fun…you’ll get faster as a side benefit.

I was the captain on my high school cross country team and now I’m on the Philadelphia University cross country team.
Run to different places around where you live. Also run with your friends. It’s easier to keep up stamina if your talking while running. It controls the breathing while running.
If I had to run on a treadmill everyday I’d be bored too. The pain might be from not stretching before and after you run.
