Anyone have any ideas, how to run better out and things to think about when running. Like when i get tired what to do. i started running at nightso i can build it up again. but when i get a cramp, what should i do and how do i prevent tht? ALso, some of the other girls run fast in long distance, how???

Depending on how much time to have to prepare for your trial you should be running at least 5 days per week. Run easy and run the 2 miles. Do not try to run fast. Walk and stretch after running. Drink plenty of water. Cramps can be caused by dehydration or the lack of training. If you warm up and stretch and drink you should not have cramps. If there is a time limit you need to practice at the pace it takes to run that time, if not then run relaxed and run slow enough so that you can talk. If this is not a race then don’t worry about the others running fast. When you get tired keep relaxed and hopefully you started at the pace you can run so you do not get tired. If you start too fast you will get tired. If you are very tired think about running to the next spot. You can always run another 10 or 20 meters. Keep running to your next marker and don’t think about the entire distance just run.

if i were you i would find a place where you know that the distance is two miles or somewhere around two miles. then see if you can run it. if you can do it then great, now you dont have to worry about the 2 mile run. if you don’t make it: thats ok you can always practice. just run the maximum distance you can every day untill you reach two miles. do you need to run the two miles at a certain time? if you do then here’s a fast way to do this. start at a jog that is not slow. run as far as you can at that pace, until you start to slow down a lot. now stop take a break and keep doing this untill you can run 2 miles at the pace. As for you problems with cramps: i used to get that too whenever i tried to practice for cross country. its usualy caused by eating within an hour or so before your run, or not enough water. i suggest you drink a bottle of water an hour after eating and then wait like another hour to do your run. if you get a cramp while running even after doing this i suggest to stop and get some more water. to answer your last question about girls running fast, im sure they practice a lot. i woulden’t be too surprised if i were you since you didnt do anything all summer and they probably practiced, lol. best of luck hope you make the team.

pick a point and run to it, then when you get there, pick out another point and run to that. it’s all about mind over matter. try picking streetlights, or trees about a block apart from each other. as for the cramps, try and run through it. they will go away. make sure you’re drinking enough water before you run, that will help with the cramps.
